Linux Kernel
At the heart of the Linux open source operating system OS is the “kernel” or “the Kernel”. The kernel of Linux can be said to be the computer software code that is loaded before anything else when you boot up your computer and start Linux. The kernel is the last thing that is unloaded when you actually halt your system.
It can be said that on its own that the kernel does not appear to do much at all. However without the Linux kernel nothing gets done at all. The kernel can be said to act as the very main link between your computer hardware and accessories and all the programs that run under Linux. It also handles as well crucial information as well as the tasks such as managing the memory (ram) , and multitasking as well.
